Isn't summer considered the slow time of the year?  Not where ministry and Mother Nature is concerned!  As you know, rainfall has been plentiful the last few weeks and many areas have succumbed to extreme flooding.  Jackson County, in the Shawnee Valley District, as well as many other counties in Ohio have needed emergency assistance to get the flood waters out of homes.  Our teams have responded and ministered to the families in several areas.  Read Thank You... continue reading

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR DISTRICT!  We challenged you, you took us on, AND YOU SURPASSED OUR CHALLENGE!  The District Leadership Team voted to set aside $42,000 in order to match dollar for dollar every gift given by any of our District Churches. Daniel Evory has been accepted by the General Board of Global Ministries as a Global Justice Volunteer for the summer of 2015.  Daniel will be trained in Seoul, Korea for one week and will then be sent to Hong Kong to work with migrant workers for two months. This year Health Kits will be collected at annual conference by the Midwest Mission Distribution Center (MMDC). MMDC will once again provide a tractor-trailer as well as personnel to receive kits. The tractor-trailer will be parked close to South Auditorium which is where registration will be held.The kits collected will help to care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis.
