SHV Annual Picnic and Pre-Conference Briefing
Sunday, May 20, 2018 - 3:00pm to 7:00pm
sponsored by Shawnee Valley District

Plan now to attend a fun afternoon of meeting others from our District, playing together and worshiping together.  Everyone who has attended in the past has fully enjoyed the fun atmosphere!

Our Spring Mission Call will support Kindway.

Kindway is a non-profit organization that operates EMBARK, an innovative Christ-centered offender reentry program.

EMBARK’s unique approach includes working with offenders for 1-2 years prior to their release from prison and providing support after their return to the community.

The program launched at Marion Correctional Institution (MCI) and the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) in June, 2011. Men and women from the Body of Christ facilitate programs to equip participants for success. Christian volunteers also serve as mentors. Support services in the community include connecting participants to housing and jobs.

Kindway is preparing for the release of the 100th participant. To date, only two individuals have committed new crimes and returned to prison!

Kindway is part of the West Ohio Conference’s All In initiative and a 30 for 30 partner.

Kindware jewelry and gift items are hand-crafted by incarcerated men and women to help support returning citizens. Kindware will be available for suggested donations between $5 - $20.
